about

"Naviar Records is an open community of artists who create music inspired by literature. It’s a simple premise, but one that has given birth to some of the most innovative and intriguing musical gems in recent years. Ultimately, Naviar Records has striven to create a place a place of free thinking, experimentation, and positive expression; an environment in which aspiring artists can experiment freely and open new paths of creation. The latest release, the simply titled ‘Naviar Series 6′ is a compilation of some of the tracks born from the community, and it is as challenging as it is brilliant.

With twenty-three tracks on the album, it is a mammoth and diverse output. What’s more, is that the sheer volume of influences is practically innumerable; switching from the pristine and atmospheric to crunching, static laden electronic, before lurching on towards funk-filled base tones played beneath swirling, melodic tones. In essence, ‘Naviar Series 6′ is sharp, involving, and wonderfully challenging, forcing repeat plays so that every minute note and sound can be heard and fully enjoyed. It is music driven to inspire and demanding to be felt, and it is a shining triumph for the format.

Although a community at heart, the output on ‘Naviar Series 6′ seems to stand for so much more. It’s the promising results of a frantic musical movement, where mass produced, droning pop is banished in favour of carefully crafted, meticulously planned, and thoroughly unique music. The distribution of creative influence and sounds, transitioning from serene bird calls one moment to ringing bells and peaceful piano tones the next; the compilation is a frequently evolving, constantly shifting mass of sounds and spirits, one that is never boring and frequently surprising."
